P&O has made some changes to their drinks packages. Here is an overview of what is now on offer
What is a drinks package?
When you book a cruise on P&O Cruises, you have the option of prepaying for convenient and cost-effective drinks packages. Choose a Value Plus fare at time of booking and automatically get an included Drinks & Wifi package.
If you opt for a cheaper cruise fare then you can add on a drinks package. There are five packages to choose from. The Soft Drinks Package, Alcohol-free Drinks Package and Spring Water Package are available to all guests on any cruise. The P&O Drinks Package and P&O Plus Drinks Package are available to guests 18 years and over, on cruises of seven nights or more, excluding Melbourne Cup and Australian Open cruises.
How do you purchase a drinks package?
After you pay your deposit or full payment, Drinks packages can be pre-purchased in Cruise Control, from approximately 90 days up until 4 days before departure.

Promotional Drinks Packages
- P&O Drinks Packages and Soft Drink Packages that are included in your fare due to the promotion you are booked on cannot be transferred to any other guest (even if they are in your booking/room).
^The Soft Drinks Package
- The Soft Drinks Package does not include bottled water, StrangeLove mixers and sodas, New Zealand Natural products, Red Bull or other energy drinks, Fanta Slushies, juice, mocktails, Lassi, bubble tea, in-room bottled water or apply to room service.
^Alcohol-free Drinks Package
- The Alcohol-free Drinks Package does not include StrangeLove mixers and sodas, New Zealand Natural products, Red Bull or other energy drinks, Fanta Slushies, in-room bottled water, non-alcoholic beers, Lyres non-alcoholic spirit cocktails or apply to room service.

- Wine exceeding $13, spirits exceeding $14 and cocktails exceeding $17 are not included, and full charges will apply to these items. Drinks included in the package are provided one per order to the guest who has purchased the package. If more than one drink is requested, the most expensive drink (that is within the package inclusions) will be accounted for by the P&O Drinks Package and the other drink(s) will be charged to your onboard account.
- Alcoholic beverages are limited to 15 beverages per 24-hour period (6am to 6am) and the service is always subject to P&O’s Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Policy. Alcoholic beverages requested above this limit are charged at regular menu prices and are subject to RSA.
- Service and availability is limited to each venue’s menu offerings and operating hours.
- The P&O Drinks Package does not include StrangeLove mixers and sodas, New Zealand Natural products, Red Bull or other energy drinks, Fanta Slushies, espresso coffee, speciality teas, Lassi and bubble Tea and does not apply to room service.
- Packages may not be shared with other guests, are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Only the guests who purchased the package are eligible to order drinks using the card associated with the P&O Drinks Package.
#^P&O Plus Drinks Package
- Wine and Champagne exceeding $19, spirits exceeding $18 and cocktails exceeding $20 are not included, and full charges will apply to these items. Drinks included in the package are provided one per order to the guest who has purchased the package. If more than one drink is requested, the most expensive drink (that is within the package limit) will be accounted for by the P&O Plus Drinks Package and the other drink(s) will be charged to your onboard account.
- Alcoholic beverages are limited to 15 beverages per 24-hour period (6am to 6am) and the service is always subject to P&O’s Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Policy. Alcoholic beverages requested above this limit are charged at the regular menu prices and are subject to RSA.
- Non-alcoholic beverages (excluding water) have no daily limit. Water is limited to six 600ml bottles of water per day.
- Service and availability is limited to each venue’s menu offerings and operating hours.
- The P&O Plus Drinks package does not include StrangeLove mixers and sodas, New Zealand Natural products, Fanta Slushies and does not apply to room service.
- Packages may not be shared with other guests, are non-transferable and non-refundable. Only the guests who purchased the package are eligible to order beverages using the card associated with P&O Plus Drinks Package.
Terms & Conditions Apply
^ Drink packages are in AUD, per person, available to purchase from 90 days – 4 days before sailing via Cruise Control and our Customer Service Team, and must be purchased for the entire cruise duration. Payment is required upfront via credit card or debit card. Credit card surcharges: Visa/Mastercard 1.1%; AMEX 2.75%. Drinks packages vary by cruise length and itinerary and exclusions apply. Melbourne Cup and Australian Open itineraries are not eligible for the P&O Drinks Package or the P&O Plus Drinks Package. Special activations, promotions and pop-ups are excluded. The package is not transferrable and cannot be shared or used by other guests.
A drinks package is applied to the individual, will be served to that eligible guest only, one drink per order. If the eligible guest orders more than one drink at a time, the most expensive drink that is eligible under the package will be accounted for. All drinks outside or over and above the drinks package inclusions will be charged to your onboard account. Items ordered through room service are not covered by any of P&O’s drinks packages. Drinks package inclusions are subject to change and onboard offerings are not guaranteed. Offerings vary by venue and are subject to availability. Package inclusions may be substituted with a similar product of equal or higher value.
Guests must be 18 years or over to purchase, possess or consume alcohol. Government issued photo identification may be requested to confirm a guest’s age. Only guests aged 18 years or above are allowed to purchase the P&O Drinks Package and the P&O Plus Drinks Package. Alcoholic beverages are limited to 15 beverages per 24-hour period (6am to 6am). Service of alcohol is always subject to P&O’s Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Policy and no refunds will be provided where alcohol service is restricted under P&O’s RSA Policy.
Should you cancel your booking 4 or more days prior to departure, we will refund the amount paid for your drinks package. Otherwise, subject to Consumer Laws, your drinks package is non-refundable. Drinks packages included free in campaign offers have no cash value and are not refundable.
